چکیده
Silicone elastomers play a crucial role in the field of maxillofacial prosthodontics. To maintain optimal hygiene, various disinfectants have been reported to clean silicone prostheses. Nevertheless, when selecting disinfectant, it is important consider not only its antimicrobial efficacy, but also compatibility with materials, minimize any potential impact on physical properties material surfaces. The coloring effect such different types interest. A total 144 specimens (72 pure silicones, 72 nano-TiO2-incorporated from A-2000 and A-2006 silicones) were fabricated this study. spectrophotometric analysis was carried out, initial CIE L*a*b* color values measured prior disinfection. Specimens each group (with or without nano-TiO2) subjected 30-h disinfection period simulating 1 year following disinfectants: Control (tap water), 0.2% chlorhexidine gluconate, 4% 1% NaOCl, neutral soap, effervescent. After second recorded, change (∆E*) calculated. Significant differences observed among for both groups. Nano-TiO2 did show protection silicone. In contrast, nano-TiO2 incorporation provided against CHG 0.2%, 4%, NaOCl Most acceptable stability over time. silicone, except chlorhexidine, all disinfectant groups demonstrated within acceptability threshold 50:50% (∆E* = 3.0). On other hand, an change. Overall, could be used as suitable

Release of TiO2 from paints containing pigment-TiO2 or nano-TiO2 by weathering.
The release of nanomaterials from products and applications that are used by industry and consumers has only been studied to a very limited extent. The amount and the characteristics of the released particles determine the potential environmental exposure. In this work we investigated the release of Ti from paints containing pigment-TiO2 and nano-TiO2. Panels covered with paint with and without...
متن کاملFabrication and Characterization of Nanostructured TiO2 and Turmeric Spent Incorporated Polystyrene Hybrid Nano Composites
A series of polystyrene hybrid nanocomposites have been fabricated with varying amounts of TiO2 viz., 0, 0.5 and 1 % w/w along with 3% TS by in-situ polymerization method. The influence of surface modified TiO2 nanoparticles on the thermal properties of PS matrix was examined using thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry. Thermal characteristics of the polystyrene/TS/TiO2 hybrid ...

15 صفحه اولStain removal from a silicone maxillofacial elastomer.
In this study, environmental stains were removed from maxillofacial elastomers by solvent extraction. Silastic 44210, an RTV silicone with proven color and physical property stability, was stained with lipstick, disclosing solution, and methylene blue. These stains were then removed by solvent extraction with each of four chemically dissimilar solvents, namely: toluene, benzene, 1,1,1-trichloro...

Statement of Purpose: In spite of widespread use of breast-conserving therapy for early breast cancer, a large number of patients still undergoes mastectomy. Postmastectomy radiation (PMRT) is indicated in selected breast cancer patients. Currently, number of patients receiving PMRT is increasing, as many women would pursue breast reconstruction with benefit for self-image [1]. Even if breast r...
